Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 23, 2026
Key Principle: Your browsing data never leaves your device. Website Blocker uses Apple's native Screen Time API for all blocking functionality. We never see, collect, or transmit information about which apps you use or which websites you visit.
1. Introduction
Website Blocker ("we", "our", "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: If you choose to create an account (optional), we collect your email address and display name. If you use Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we receive only the information you authorize (typically email and name).
- Blocking Configuration: Your blocking rules, schedules, and preferences are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our cloud service (Firebase Firestore) if you create an account.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Subscription Status: We store your subscription status (active/expired, plan type, expiration date) in Firebase Firestore to enable multi-device sync.
- Anonymous Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data (app opens, feature usage, crash reports). This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Crash Reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and diagnostic data to improve app stability.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Browsing History: We never collect or access your browsing history.
- Blocked Content: We do not track which specific apps or websites you block.
- Screen Time Data: Apple's Screen Time API does not share your usage data with third-party apps. We cannot see your screen time statistics.
- Network Traffic: The App does not use VPN, proxy, or any network interception. Your internet traffic is never routed through our servers.
- Contacts, Photos, Location: We do not access your contacts, photo library, or location data.
3. How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality.
- Sync your blocking configurations across your devices (if you create an account).
- Verify and manage your subscription status.
- Improve the App through anonymized analytics and crash reports.
- Communicate with you about your account or subscription (only if you provide an email).
4. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Blocking rules, app tokens, and session data are stored in iOS UserDefaults and App Group shared storage on your device.
- Cloud Storage: If you create an account, your subscription status and blocking configuration are stored in Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud Platform), encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Authentication: Account credentials are managed by Firebase Authentication and stored in the iOS Keychain.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
We share data only with:
- Apple: For subscription validation through App Store receipt verification.
- Firebase (Google): For cloud sync, authentication, analytics, and crash reporting. Firebase processes data according to Google's privacy policies.
